    Embarkation on M/V Cattleya - Iquitos

    Day 1 / Wednesday

    Arrival at Iquitos' airport during the afternoon and transfer to M/V Cattleya Cruise. You will meet the rest of the passengers with whom you'll share the following four days. The cruise works with small groups with no more than 8 people, so it is easier to get to know each other and strike up friendships. A safety drill will take place, to learn everything about the cruise's safety procedures.
    Take the chance to explore the cruise and spend some quiet, relaxing time surrounded by nature.

    Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

    Day 2 / Thursday

    You will go on a day-long excursion by boat in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the second largest in the Amazon and the largest in Peru, and a navigating from Yanayacu Creek to Yarina Cocha.
    Hike around the area to get a closer look of its amazing biodiversity. There are fascinating animals such as sloths, many monkeys and bird species, tree frogs, iguanas, pink and gray dolphins, among others. Also, its lush vegetation offers great examples of the different ways plants develop: very tall trees making their way up to get sunlight, plants with important medical properties for people, and plants that host aunts and other animals and bugs.
    Return to the cruise for dinner.

    Canopy Suspended Bridge & Visit to a Village

    Day 3 / Friday

    Hike through the canopy suspended bridge during the morning. From there, 115 feet up in the canopy, you will appreciate a unique view of all the birds, monkeys and other creatures that live up in the treetops, and to hear their different sounds, howls and songs.
    Visit to a village to gain a deeper insight into Amazonian people's lifestyles, including a meeting with a shaman, a person that acts as a connector between the earthly and the spiritual world, the very natural essence of the world. You will experience and take part in the shaman's ceremony of spiritual healing. Also, local artisans will be displaying their handicrafts and delightful folk art, available for purchase.

    Amazon River Birthplace - Iquitos

    Day 4 / Saturday

    During the morning, M/V Cattlaya will navigate down Marañon River to Iquitos, passing by the meeting with Ucayali River. It is here, where the two rivers get together, that the Amazon River is born.
    Lunch, return to Iquitos and transfer to the airport.

    Pacaya Samiria NR - Ucayali River

    Day 2 / Sunday

    Navigation through the black waters of Belluda Caño (Belluda Creek) and Dorado River. Your guide will take you to a small Ucayali River's affluent to spot different Amazonian creatures. After this introduction on the Amazonian fauna and the tips to identify its animals, the cruise will carry on navigation through the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, home to a huge amount of birds such as macaws and kingfishers, apes like the endangered black spider monkey, sea mammals like the sweet endangered manatee and the friendly pink and gray dolphins, and mysterious reptiles like the iguanas.
    Return to the cruise for dinner.

    Cattleya Cruise Exploration Excursion

    Flooded Forest or Igapó

    Day 3 / Monday

    Trip into the flooded forest, also known as Igapó, where a whole different and beautiful landscape will appear, with its own biodiversity.
    Depending on the water levels, a guided hike will take place, to learn about this exotic vegetation, how it evolved to live in a seasonally flooded area, and the medical usages locals find on them.
    Return to the M/V Cattleya for dinner.

    Wetlands & Visit to a Village

    Day 4 / Tuesday

    Morning trip to the wetlands of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, to spot mammals, reptiles and birds.
    Visit to a village located on the riverbanks. Here, you and locals can share experiences and learn about each other\'s culture. Local artisans will be displaying their handicrafts and delightful folk art, available for purchase.
    Return to share a delightful Peruvian-cuisine dinner during your last night aboard the cruise.

    Amazon River Birthplace - Nauta

    Day 5 / Wednesday

    Navigation up Marañon River, passing by its confluence with Ucayali River. These two rivers mark the birthplace of the Amazon River. The friendly pink and gray river dolphins can be seen swimming along as the cruise heads to Ucayali River.
    You'll go on an excursion by boat through the channels and the small islands surrounding them, where guides will help you discover its fauna, including sloths, many monkeys and bird species, tree frogs, iguanas, and more.
    Return to Iquitos and transfer to the airport.

    Day 1 / Saturday

    Today your Amazon adventure begins. Upon arrival, you will visit the famous floating town of Belen. In the afternoon you will board the modern and luxurious M/V Cattleya river boat. Settle in and enjoy a welcome drink with your fellow passengers and get to know the guides aboard the ship. Admire the first sights of the Amazon as you begin your journey to the Triple Frontier!

    Napo River, Orellana Town & Orán Creek

    Day 2 /

    In the morning you will go on a bird watching excursion. Return to the M/V Cattleya to enjoy a delicious breakfast before going on a skiff ride along the Napo River taking you to a nearby town, Orellana. In the afternoon, return back to the ship for lunch, followed by another skiff ride along the Orán Creek. Finish this day with a night excursion to hear the sounds of the jungle as the nocturnal wildlife awakens. Finish your evening with a delicious meal and reflect on the days activity.

    Ampiyacu River, Indigenous Village & Grippa House

    Day 3 / Monday

    Wake up early today and watch the rainforest come alive as you ride along the Ampiyacu River in a skiff and watch the sunrise in the Amazon. After enjoying breakfast on the boat, head back out for a cultural visit to the Witoto or Boras tribe. Here you will have the opportunity to see the art gallery and home of famous artist, Francisco Grippa. In the afternoon you will go on a short hike through the rainforest and watch the sunset. Head back to the ship early evening and enjoy a pisco sour with a delicious gourmet meal.

    Paranaquiro Village & Caballococha

    Day 4 / Tuesday

    Today will begin with a skiff ride on a journey to spot the colorful macaws. Return to the boat for breakfast and relax, because this afternoon you will go on another adventure to visit Paranaquiro River Village. Explore the village and see how some of the locals live. After lunch, go piranha fishing in the black water lake. You will then have the option to swim with pink river dolphins in Caballococha Lake and visit the town of Caballococha. Take a moto-taxi ride around the city before returning to the ship in time for sunset and a delicious dinner.

    Tres Fronteras, City Tour & Monkey Island

    Day 5 /

    Enjoy an early breakfast and get ready to venture towards Colombia and Brazil - The Triple Frontier. Today you will go on a city tour of Leticia in Colombia and Tabatinga in Brazil. Return back to the M/V Cattleya and enjoy lunch prepared by the chef. In the afternoon, you will visit Monkey Island where you can explore more of the rainforest.

    Rainforest Walk & Skiff Exploration

    Day 6 / Thursday

    Start your day with a skiff ride along the Amazon River. Return back to the ship for breakfast and get ready for your afternoon rainforest walk through Terra Firme. After eating lunch on the ship, head out for another skiff ride and watch the sunset in the Amazon, this is one of the most beautiful sights to see in the Amazon.

    Yaguas Village & Apayacu Lake

    Day 7 / Friday

    Today you will take a skiff in the early morning to see the rainforest as it awakens, listen to the jungle come to life. Return to the ship for breakfast and then head out for your next activity to visit the Yaguas Indian community. After the community visit, go piranha fishing at Apayacu Lake, here you will have plenty of opportunities to take some beautiful photos. Return to the M/V Cattleya in the afternoon and watch the sunset. Today is your last day on the ship, so be sure to enjoy the Peruvian specialty cocktail, the Pisco Sour.

    Return to Iquitos

    Day 8 / Saturday

    Enjoy breakfast on the ship and say your goodbyes. Return to Iquitos and transfer to the airport to catch a flight home or to your next destination in South America.
